Legal Assistant - Portland, Oregon

Ashurance Recruiting is supporting a Portland law firm is seeking a highly organized, detail‑driven Legal Assistant to join its team. This role provides direct support to an attorney whose work spans tax‑sensitive wealth‑preservation planning, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, nonprofit organizations, corporate and partnership matters, and complex business transactions.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys working across a variety of legal matters, and takes pride in delivering exceptional client service.


Responsibilities

  • Calendar & Deadline Management — Maintain attorney calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely completion of filings and deliverables.
  • Client Intake & Communication — Assist with new client onboarding, coordinate communications, and support ongoing client relationships with professionalism and discretion.
  • Meeting & Signing Coordination — Schedule client meetings, prepare signing packets, and facilitate document execution.
  • Document Preparation — Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and transactional materials with a high level of accuracy.
  • Entity & Filing Support — File executed documents with the Secretary of State, County Real Property offices, and assist with business entity formation tasks.
  • Court E‑Filings — Complete Oregon and Washington e‑filings and manage related documentation.
  • File Management — Maintain organized electronic client files and support matter management across the practice.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Legal Assistant in estate planning, probate, business, tax, or related practice areas.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and comfort working with complex documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal document management systems.
  • A proactive, dependable, and collaborative working style with a commitment to outstanding client service.

lateral Attorney - Portland, Oregon

A well‑established Portland‑area law firm with a strong reputation in real estate, business, and adjacent practice areas is seeking an experienced lateral attorney to join its growing team. This role is designed for an established practitioner with at least eight years of experience and a portable book of business who is looking for a collegial, growth‑oriented platform to expand their practice.

The firm offers the autonomy, resources, and support structure needed to serve existing clients effectively while continuing to build and develop a thriving practice. Attorneys here value high‑quality work, strong client relationships, and a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Management — Maintain, service, and grow an existing book of business.
  • Matter Leadership — Lead client matters through all phases of litigation or transactional work.
  • Strategic Planning — Develop and execute case or transaction strategies in coordination with firm leadership.
  • Client & Referral Development — Cultivate and expand client relationships and referral networks.
  • Mentorship — Mentor associates and contribute to ongoing attorney development within the firm.
  • Business Development — Play an active role in firm growth initiatives and practice expansion.

Qualifications

  • At least eight years of relevant litigation or transactional experience in one or more of the following: real estate, business, eminent domain, employment, trusts & estates, tax, intellectual property, or general commercial litigation.
  • A demonstrated portable book of business.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Oregon State Bar.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
